Sponsor a free scam checker
AskBeforeYouSend stays free because of sponsors. We only work with brands that genuinely help people stay safe, and we label every sponsored spot.
Our ad policy
We may accept
- Identity theft protection and credit monitoring
- Bank and credit union fraud tools, and banks' own safety education
- Call and text blocking apps
- Password managers and security keys
- Senior-friendly phones and devices
- Nonprofits, libraries, senior centers and government safety programs
We will never accept
- Crypto, trading, "investment opportunity", gold or precious-metals sellers
- Payday, title or high-interest loans, debt relief, or "credit repair"
- "Fund recovery" or "we'll get your money back" services
- Lead generation that sells people's details, or anything requiring a Social Security number to see an offer
- Sweepstakes, prizes, or "you've won" style ads
- Fear-based ads, fake warnings, countdown timers, or ads that look like our checker's results
- Political ads, and anything we'd be uncomfortable recommending to our own parents
How sponsored content is shown
- Every sponsored spot says "Sponsored" or "Paid link" right next to it, following the FTC's endorsement guidance. (FTC endorsement guides)
- If we earn a commission from a link, we say "We earn a commission if you sign up" next to the link.
- Sponsors never change the checker's answers, the guides, or our reporting advice.
- Sponsor links use
rel="sponsored". - No sponsor ads inside a "Stop" result.
Our own services
We sometimes promote our own paid service, Life Story books. Those spots are labeled "Our own service", follow the same rules as sponsors (no fear, no countdowns, never inside a checker result, never on scam guides or the report page), and buying anything is never needed to use the free checker.
Sponsor options
Pricing is set case by case once traffic numbers are published. No prices are promised on this page.
- Newsletter sponsor: one labeled spot in the weekly Scam Alert, placed right after the most useful item.
- Guide sponsor: a labeled spot on one scam guide (for example, a bank sponsoring the fake bank alert guide).
- Site sponsor: one labeled spot on the scam guides for a month.
- Printable sponsor: a small "made free by" line on the Fridge Sheet.
- Nonprofit and library partners: free co-branded printables for senior centers and libraries.
